SS512 Low-Light Day/Night Camera System
The SS512 Low-Light Day/Night Camera System is a cutting-edge imaging solution specifically designed for operation in the most demanding environments, offering exceptional performance in both daylight and low-light conditions. Standard video stream are available over IP using the ONVIF standard in H.264/H.265 and MJPG.
Low-Light Sensitivity: The SS512 is engineered to operate effectively in extremely low-light environments, with a minimum subject illumination of 0.0005 lux. This capability makes it ideal for critical sub-sea and nighttime and operations, such as surveillance and reconnaissance, where visibility is minimal.
Precision Control: Operators can achieve optimal image clarity with single-shot autofocus, manual or automatic iris control, and digital zoom features. These options provide flexibility in adjusting to specific operational needs, ensuring the best possible visual output in dynamic scenarios.
High-Resolution Output: The camera captures high-definition video at a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080, delivering sharp and detailed visual data for reliable analysis and decision-making.
Versatile Deployment
The SS512 integrates seamlessly with a range of platforms, including autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), unmanned surface vessels (USVs), and manned systems, providing flexible deployment options for both above- and below-water operations.
Its 360° pan-and-tilt functionality and compatibility with long-range lenses further expand its operational versatility.
Rugged Durability
Pressure Resistance: Built to perform in harsh environments, the SS512’s housing is rated to withstand pressures up to 6,900 psi, making it suitable for operations at significant depths. This durability ensures reliable performance in subsea applications, even under extreme stress.
Environmental Tolerance: Designed for versatility, the camera operates within a temperature range of -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C), handling challenging conditions such as high vibrations, corrosive environments, and condensation without compromising functionality.
Enhanced Survivability: Optional upgrades extend its deployment capabilities to depths of up to 6 kilometers, broadening its application for ultra-deepwater missions.
Advanced Connectivity
ONVIF Compliance: Standard video streaming over IP is supported using ONVIF protocols, ensuring easy integration into existing systems.
Multiple Streaming Formats: The SS512 supports H.264, H.265, and MJPG formats, providing operators with real-time video feeds optimized for bandwidth and quality requirements.
Multi-Domain Applications: These features enable its use in critical operations such as mine countermeasures (MCM), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), subsurface seabed warfare (SSW), and other high-stakes missions.
Deployment
The SS512 system is fully operational and has been tested extensively in marine and tactical environments including as a critical component of the AUSV's payload. The AUSV, with its autonomous operations, relies on the SS512 for the following applications:
Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting (ISR&T): Capturing detailed imagery of vessels, personnel, subsurface environments, and coastal areas under challenging lighting conditions, providing actionable intelligence in real-time.
Mine Countermeasures (MCM): Supporting the identification and clearance of underwater explosive hazards, ensuring safe navigation and operational readiness in contested waters.
Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW): Enhancing underwater situational awareness by aiding in the detection, identification, and tracking of potential submarine threats, leveraging the camera's ability to perform in low-visibility environments.
Subsurface Seabed Warfare (SSW): Conducting detailed imaging of seabed environments for reconnaissance and strategic operations, including detection of adversary equipment and infrastructure.
Military Deception (MILDEC): Contributing to operational deception strategies by providing visual data to simulate the presence of additional assets or support decoy tactics.
Sub-Launched Unmanned Aerial System (SLUAS) Integration: Enabling situational awareness and targeting support for SLUAS operations, capturing high-resolution imagery critical for mission success both above and below the surface.
