The SRV-8X Optimus ROV was developed to push the limits required for offshore and more challenging deployments where larger payload capabilities and more sensors are required for more demanding and deeper missions. The stronger thrusters provide for operating in higher currents with quicker responsiveness.
Going Further and Deeper
An optional fiber optic tether and provides for operating at depths up to 500 meters and distances of up to several kilometers. It also provides a data bandwidth in excess of 1 GB/sec.
You can add a wide variety of sensors and robotic arms as a field upgradeable “plug-n-play” installation/solution. Our SubNav-X™ software is preconfigured to recognize approved devices and work out of the box.

The big brother of Oceanbotics' popular SRV-8 ROV is here with the same fantastic operating performance! X-model is a very powerful ROV with depth range down to 500 m where you maintain the same intuitive mobility and performance as the SRV-8 ROV.
That makes this X-ROV well suited for tough assignments as well as "regular" positioning and inspection assignments. Especially since SubNav-X software is structured so you can choose which, or all data on the same movie and screen. Flexibility for the professional.

SRV-8X OPTIMUS ROV - MDV
SRV-8X OPTIMUS ROV - MDV (Mine Disposal Vehicle)
This field-tested vehicle will detect and eliminate explosive mine threats quickly
and efficiently, utilizing ECS Special Projects’ Viper MDS technology for neutralizing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The SRV-8 MDV’s ease of use and adaptive software will allow commercial and naval EOD teams to locate and neutralize mine threats quickly.
Operators will first use the SRV-8 MDV’s state-of-the-art imaging sonar to detect
the mine threat. Upon reaching the mine, the Viper MDS will secure the charge disruptor to the mine. The operator will then navigate the vehicle away from the mine threat while deploying a shock tube that remains connected to the ROV.

By activating the charge through the shock tube, the operator will effectively neutralize the mine threat, ensuring the safety of both personnel and the ROV.

ACOUSTIC (SONAR) TRACKING SYSTEM
SRV-8X ROV OPTIMUS ATS - Acoustic (sonar) Tracking System
The SRV-8X Optimus ATS is an exceptional remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) engineered to detect pingers & transponders used to identify precise underwater locations.
A prime example includes underwater locator beacons (ULBs) affixed to black boxes (flight recorders), commonly found on commercial aircraft. When directed towards an acoustic beacon, the ATS receives an audio signal, providing information about the exact location of the target. Oceanbotics incorporated these navigation capabilities into its SubNav-X OS software, which is known for its intuitive design and user-friendly experience. Utilizing a signal strength meter, the software precisely determines the beacon’s location by analyzing the characteristics of the audio tone.
The SRV-8X Optimus ATS is also capable of discreetly identifying sonar transponders without revealing their positions, rendering it a highly valuable resource for operations that require absolute confidentiality. With the aid of a conventional gaming controller, the operator can navigate and pinpoint the beacons and transponders with ease. This state-of-the-art technology significantly enhances sonar detection, empowering professionals in defense and search & rescue sectors.
